Microsoft Edge Browser Testing Built-in Crypto Wallet: Latest Update on Microsoft’s Crypto Development
Microsoft is reportedly developing a cryptocurrency wallet for its Edge browser amid a struggling crypto market. The company has been testing the built-in crypto wallet internally and plans to eventually release it to the public.
The new feature promises to simplify Web3 interaction and comes with integrated security features. However, the wallet has already caused controversy, as some employees have expressed concern about the recent layoffs of the Edge team.
The wallet will allow users to buy cryptocurrencies from Coinbase and MoonPay and connect decentralized apps.
Microsoft has also faced criticism for adding a Bing button and buy now, pay later financing options to Edge, prompting some to question the usefulness of the browser’s growing list of features.
